INSTRUCTIONS FOR E85 SENSOR BYPASS MODULE 40T-E85SBM

E85 SENSOR BYPASS MODULE 40T-E85SBM

Congratulations on your purchase of the E85 Sensor Bypass Module. This will allow you to take full advantage of running e85 fuel without any compromise to fuel flow because of the flex fuel sensor.  It does this by creating a parallel dual path - straight through unrestricted and through the parallel "bypass" pathway for the flex fuel sensor.  With e85 having lower chemical energy, it will require about 30% more fuel volume to flow through the fuel feed lines to the fuel rails.  It is especially critical to have higher fuel flow capability when installing the flex fuel sensor on the feed size of the fuel system to avoid fuel limitations and stress on pumps.

SENSOR COMPATIBILITY:

Works with e85 sensors with tube diameter of 9.5mm and end-to-end length of 95mm

This includes the GM 13577429, GM 13577379, Continental, VDO, AEM 30-2200, Innovate 3907, plus more

*Fitment with Haltech HT-011000 not verified

**If you have a sensor that has tube length of approx 105mm in length contact us for a spacer adapter kit

ASSEMBLY:     ***READ  IMPORTANT***

1 - Unbox and ensure all components are included

2 - Install 2 small o-rings INTO the housing - not on flex sensor. **2 on each side**

*** Push each one in by hand until they are both seated.

*** Do not install o-rings on the flex fuel sensor and then try to install the sensor, otherwise o-rings may distort or tear.

*** 2 o-ring seals required on each side otherwise fuel leakage will occur

3 - Use fuel as a lubricant and insert the flex fuel sensor into the bore on each side through the o-rings.  It will be a snug fit.

4 - Before connecting both halves of the sensor housing, hold the assembly vertically and rotate the upper half to allow space to install the sensor body o-ring.  By holding it vertically, the o-ring will not fall out.

5 - Align the 2 halves and push together the assembly and use the (4) M4x30 bolts with allen key included.

6 - Use a lubricant on the fitting seals (ex. fuel) to install the AN feed and exit fittings, choices of 6AN and 8AN included.   Install 6AN plugs or 6AN fitting to use it as a splitter.

The kit also includes washers and m5x8 mm bolts for use with your own bracket. Do not use bolts that are longer as you may damage the unit.

General Installation Guide:

This sensor bypass module can be installed in a few different ways.   On the feed side or return side.  It is ideal on the feed to give the ecu the most accurate e85 content reading and fastest response of actual e85 content after fuel fill-up.   Installation on the return side can cause a slight delay and it is recommended to idle the engine for a few minutes after fuel fill-up.
