Included parts:

  • Billet Aluminum 6061 J-plug
  • Includes Stainless Steel AR-70 M8 x1.25 16mm bolt,
  • (2) O-rings 20x3

The J-plug on a 1.8T bolts to the engine block and sits under the intake manifold right behind the thermostat housing.  It is a common leak point on the B6 A4 1.8Ts that have not been maintained and when it leaks is often mis-diagnosed for other types of coolant leaks like water pump and or the thermostat housing.

The purpose of the J-Plug is to plug a once-used port in the cooling system for an older application.   Instead of retooling and recasting a new block for the B6, a quick and easy fix for VAG is to simply plug the port with this J-plug.

Installation Notes:

  • After removing the old J-Plug, thoroughly clean the port using a wire brush or similar, ensuring there is no corrosion or rust, otherwise the new seal may be damaged.
  • Always replace the oring if it looks worn.  A spare o-ring is provided as a courtesy.
